Notably, she is a Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Certified Specialist. She has held this distinction for over ten years. As a result, she is a proven expert in curriculum-based music instruction.

Joyce is renowned for her flute mastery. However, she is equally distinguished as a Piano Instructor. She provides a rigorous foundation in keyboard technique, sight-reading, and theory. Consequently, her dual expertise helps develop well-rounded musicians. Students understand harmonic structures on the piano. Simultaneously, they master melodic phrasing on wind instruments.

Joyce’s teaching is grounded in elite academic training. First, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Flute Performance from Towson University. Later, she pursued graduate studies in Musicology at the world-renowned Peabody Conservatory (Johns Hopkins University).

Additionally, her professional footprint in San Diego is significant. For example, Joyce founded the successful Hayutin Music Studio in Carmel Valley. She directed it for 13 years. Furthermore, she co-founded San Diego Coastal Flutes. She even organized masterclasses with legendary flutist Sir James Galway at SDSU.
